Sunny October

This October had been everything already: hot, cold, sunny, rainy. Now it's back to sunny and hot and I love it. I bought very nice and warm house slippers today since the nights have been quite cool and I needed new slippers.

But... just a few last days of my life as "not-yet-an-aunt". So the best part of this October is yet to come!

So that this post has a new picture to view, here's a scan of part of a comic I once drew.

Need to start posting more often

Somehow I never considered the possibility but finally I realized I can track how many people happen to stumble over my blog. So Sylvia showed me how to do that and voila - now I get to see all the details in one click. I had no idea how many these were... I previously thought it would be just a hand full or so, if at all. But now that I know better I think I need to start posting more often.

What made me take the time

I finally get to share a piece of my artwork for the simple reason that I had a tooth extraction today and not really up to doing anything but eating baby food. I did finish my latest project though, so here it is. It's based off a photo I took over a year ago. I only have one of my monitors hooked up right now so I couldn't check on the colors. Hope you still like it.

New Friends

Let me introduce you to this little friend of mine. Together with her twin sister she comes around quite often. Mom is not watching too closely anymore, sometimes she's still at the other end of the property when the little ones already come skipping around the house. We've got a second pair of deer twins that come through our yard. But those are boys and already 2 years old. I wish they weren't so shy. It would be the coolest thing if they let us touch them!

And The Yard Work Begins

My favorite color - green - is everywhere now. And we discover new plants all over our yard, many of them we had no idea would turn out to be so pretty in spring. While Philip was cutting off big branches from trees I grabbed my camera. I was too lazy to take the tripod (the sun went down behind the hill) out so I need to go back and try out my new lens again with the right equipment. I have a few pictures I still like. They won't make any headlines but they captured this beautiful warm spring evening we had today.

Das Warten auf Maigrün

We've had a few days already to give us a taste of what springtime is going to be like. I can't wait for everything to turn green again. Four years ago I went with my family (everybody including grandma and aunt and uncle) to the botanical gardens when Hamburg was dipped in fresh green.
